Overview
The Polo Training Foundation's
purpose is to establish and administer a series of
funds, including memorial, advisory, international,
endowment, intercollegiate/ interscholastic, and others.
These funds are dedicated to support Polo in collegiate
or scholastic sports curriculums, promote international
goodwill through Polo competition, and above all,
encourage development and sportsmanship through teaching
young people the principles of the game of Polo.
Since 1967, the Polo Training
Foundation has been committed to excellence in the
great sport of polo. PTF supports polo training at
all levels by providing funds for the development
of current and future generations of players and umpires.
The Foundation's many programs include beginner clinics
designed to teach young people the principles of polo,
intercollegiate/interscholastic tournaments and clinics,
and international player exchanges. Through its activities,
PTF seeks to encourage the highest standards of sportsmanship
and to promote international good will through polo
competition.
Umpire Clinics - conducted
at local polo clubs and major polo centers: beginner
level,intermediate level, individual.
Library of Educational Materials:
- Pocket USPA Rulebook (produced
by PTF)
- Umpire Training Films/Arena
and Outdoor (produced by PTF). Major USA and International
Tournament Films.
Beginner Clinics: Held
at local polo clubs/Junior Polo Program (children
up to 14 years)/Pony Club Polo, Adult Clinics.
Interscholastic Polo:
PTF provides grants for operation of the USPA Interscholastic
(High School Level) polo program, covering Player
and Rules Clinics, Training Films, National Tournament.
Intercollegiate Polo
- PTF provides grants for operation of the USPA Intercollegiate
(College and University Level) polo program, covering:
Player and Rules Clinics, Training Films, Regional
Tournaments, National Tournament, International Exchanges
(Advisory Funding), Direct Assistance to College Programs
(Advisory Funding).
International Polo:
PTF supports exchanges of young players in cooperation
with the Federation of International Polo.
PTF invites you to contribute
toward its mission of promoting excellence in Polo.
Public and private donations provide thefunds needed
for the continuation of these outstanding programs
for polo players of all ages. Through its activities,
PTF has done much to enrich our lives, and a contribution
to the Foundation is a means of assuring the same
opportunity for future generations.
Your contribution of up to
$99.00 - Contributor,
$199.00 - Friends of Polo,
$200.00-$499.00 - 2 Goal Club,
$500.00-$999.00 - 5 Goal Club or
$1000.00 - 10 Goal Club,
may be designated to any combination of permanent
funds or current programs that you wish to support.
General Fund: This fund,
made up of undesignated contributions, covers administrative
expenses and sustains PTF training programs.
Memorial Fund: Memorial
contributions, unless otherwise designated, are used
as a part of the General Fund to support PTF's basic
programs.
Endowment Fund: Income
from the Endowment Fund is included in the General
Fund to cover normal operating costs and ongoing programs.
Umpire Endowment Fund:
The income from this fund is dedicated to Umpire Training
Programs.
Advisory Funds: These
charitable reserves enable donors to make gifts to
PTF at a time beneficial to the donor and to suggest
distributions at a future time to support programs
favored by the donor.
Intercollegiate Fund:
Contributions to this fund are used to reimburse the
expenses of the Intercollegiate/Interscholastic Tournament
Program and to assist participating schools and colleges
to develop successful polo programs.
International Fund:
This fund provides expense reimbursement for teams
and individuals participating in qualified international
competition among college, high school and young players.
