Polo Club schools proliferate around the United States. Most beginner classes are set up to include horses, tack, and all the safety equipment needed to begin a new sport. Potential students no longer attending an academic school can also participate in a polo club's regular group or private lesson programs.

The polo trainers and coaches are very familiar with the best approach for starting the new sport to the unfamiliar and inexperienced. Gentle horses and helmets are provided so the sport is not expensive at entry level. Many students start out in a pair of blue jeans and cowboy boots so nothing else is required for purchase.

The United States Polo Association (USPA) offers a special student membership at a very affordable rate. The benefits include insurance, clinics, videos, rule books and discounts along with specially trained umpires and sanctioned tournaments for those ready to start competition.
